God-Sized Dreaming

This little journey all started with this post:

“Because¬†with God, dreaming is different. It’s not pie-in-the-sky, pony-for-Christmas, be-a-princess-when-I-grow-up dreaming.

No, dreaming with Him is very much about reality.

All things are possible with God. Mark 10:27″

and then continued with this challenge:

“Because as I consider the story of our lives, here’s what¬†I’ve come to¬†believe…

Jesus¬†is the author (Hebrews 12:2)¬†but He has given each of us¬†a pen.”

So…I’m forging ahead and discovering some of the God-sized dreams God wants me to step out into and to just dream with Him. ¬†Want to join? I’d love to hear your story and what God reveals to you through this!

Hello Food!

I never knew how much I could miss certain types of food.¬† I can already tell you that one of the hardest things about going home will be deciding what food to eat first because I want all of it!¬† I want Panera’s cinnamon crunch bagel with honey walnut cream cheese.¬† I want pad thai.¬† I want Kashi cereal and Special K with Red Berries.¬† I want Olive Garden’s Chicken Scampi minus the chicken.¬† I want White Chocolate Molten Cake from Chili’s.¬† I want a blueberry bagel with lite strawberry cream cheese.¬† I want cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory.¬† I want the strawberry poppyseed salad from Panera.¬† I want granola bars.¬† I want better than sex cake.¬† I want access to all sorts of fruit and being able to go to the grocery store whenever.¬† And to add to it all, I want to make my own food whenever I want and to eat whenever I want.¬† Yet, in the meantime, I appreciate the little luxuries that come along every once in a while.¬† For example, you have no idea how excited Sam and I got in the grocery store when we saw BABY SPINACH!¬† Amazing!¬† Normal, baby spinach to make a yummy salad.¬† I am pumped.¬† To add to the excitement, they even had Tahini, which makes fabulous hummus and falafel, which I’ll tell you more about in another post.

So, what’s something you’ve eaten this week that was absolutely fabulous?¬† And what should I eat first when I get back?

Bursting at the Seams

‚Äúif we were given all we want here, our hearts would settle for this world rather than the next‚ÄĚ -Elisabeth Elliot

Earlier this week this¬†post that included the quote above greatly encouraged me. ¬†I have asked and planned for a lot of things in my life. ¬†If my plan had gone accordingly, I would be honeymooning right now. ¬†Instead, I got to go to an engaging discussion about prayer tonight. ¬†I struggle with prayer. ¬†I struggle with how to pray, when to pray, how to not “program” prayer. ¬†I get nervous. ¬†I don’t speak because I’m afraid. ¬†Yet, after I’ve spoken to the Lord, I come away with an overwhelming sense of relief and awe. ¬†Not only do I get to speak to Him, but He listens! ¬†Even to the minute, petty details of my life. ¬†I want to be a prayer warrior and infuse my life with prayer that it bursts at the seams. ¬†I want to ask and receive as well as rejoice when I see the amazing things that happen. ¬†I can’t wait to see the awesomely cool things that are going to come about due to the changes in my plans. ¬†So here goes.

p.s. I won’t be typical and ask everyone to comment with a prayer request, but if you would like to leave one, know that I will be praying for you! ¬†If you have something you don’t want to publicize (I definitely know how that goes!) feel free to e-mail me at kigkat@gmail.com¬†

Google Reader

I resisted for so long! ¬†I read a post about the types of bloggers. ¬†Funny and interesting post for sure, but most of all it reminded me about using an rss feed or reader tool. ¬†I caved. ¬†I spent a little time and figured well…I like the way I read them now (I had a list of tabs and opened them all at once and then clicked through). ¬†I thought I would try the new way out for a few days and probably go back. ¬†I was wrong. ¬†I love Google Reader! ¬†Quick, easy, fun. ¬†I can see who has posted and when and decide when I want to read them and come back if I don’t want to read them. ¬†The only thing I miss is being able to see the pretty websites. ¬†Other than that, ¬†life is good. ¬†Anyone else have a better reader? ¬†
