I fly out today! Not sure when I’ll have internet for sure next….but I’ll check back in then!
packing
One, Two, Three: Pack
Unpacking. Packing. Unpacking. Packing. This has been my life for the last few days. I feel like I have accumulated so much stuff. Though, I have enjoyed being able to organize and reorganized everything. I put up pictures in my room and added my happy yellow mirror. I created an extra bookcase until I can have the white one. I made a happy place in my closet and turned my bed into a “I want to get in right now and never leave” place. Here are some photos of the finished product. Well, at least for now. I still have more packing and unpacking and organizing to do, but you can get the general gist of things 🙂
Closet/makeshift bookshelf and happy area. Note: I still have to add clothes to the left side, but have to wait since I have to decide what I’m bringing still….
11 pillows. 2 down comforters. 1 feather bed. 1 comforter. 1 blanket (for now).
My bed was too tall so I stacked the night stands 🙂
Bookshelf, speakers and night stands, and flowers
Okay, I’m ready for bed now!
Counting the Days
Wow, everything goes so fast. I am officially done with work. I had a crazy last day, but I still got a picture with some (aka the “best” hehe) coworker and boss:
I also was able to snatch some photos with my roomies. Look at facebook for the complete album courtesy of Amy G. Otherwise, here are a few of my favorites (edit: this turned into a lot of my favorites, so enjoy):
You can’t tell, but I’m holding a very large knife in this picture. For some reason, I love opening plastic packages (like cake mixes) with a big knife.
We went outside on the deck!
Posing in the bathroom
Angle shot in the mirror. Gotta love it!
I can’t believe I’m all moved out and am leaving so soon (3 days 5 hours 24 minutes 4 seconds). I am really going to miss those girls above and those not pictured. But, we’re not going to think about that right now….As Scarlett O’Hara would say, “I can’t think about that right now. If I do I’ll go crazy. I’ll think about that tomorrow.”
Books Galore!
Step 1: Organize into piles by categories
Step 2: Take out the books from bookshelf number 1 and then re-shelve the books. Then reexamine your piles and organize accordingly.
Step 3: Fill bookshelf number 2.
Step 4: Fill bookshelf number 3.
Step 5: Go back and make sure all the books are organized correctly and then leave the remaining books in the piles on the floor since bookshelf number 4 will be coming in a couple of weeks.
Step 6: Go through all of the books one more time and move them around now that you have moved bookshelf number 4 back home.
Step 7: Attempt to pick out books to bring to South Africa.
Step 8: Get teary eyed about how you won’t be able to bring many books and how you have to leave bookshelf number 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Step 9: Remember that people can ship you books.
Step 10: Bring lots of books anyway.
p.s. for those of you who were wondering (Tam), if you look closely you can see some of my pottery! I’ll take some more pictures sometime soon, but I moved most of it home already so you’ll have to wait a few weeks.
Definitely Maybe
I had no plans for tonight. If anything, I thought I would have a quiet night. Instead, I ended up packing up my bike, staying on hold FOREVER for Comcast, meeting some nice bike shop people, going to Target for a few things, running into my brother at Target, going to get a router and chatting with Amy’s roommates, dropping off my jacket for Amy, checking out the Coffeehouse, running into Britt who brought me to Tiffany, staying at the Coffeehouse to listen to Titus (*sigh*), texting Dohlen, chatting with Dohlen, saying good-night, chatting with Titus, buying his cd, and driving home happy. Who knew!? Right when I’m expecting a simple, quiet night, I get thrown all these opportunities and “circumstances” to chat with other people. I also was humbled and treated graciously by the bike people–yay for nice bike people that didn’t charge me! I’m going there again! Plus, there was a cute boy 😉 I loved all of the other conversations I had tonight as well. I really enjoy asking lots of questions and hearing what’s been happening so the night of catch-up was great! In other news, tomorrow, I get internet finally! I also get to eat lunch out for free. Sounds like a good day. Maybe I’ll update with some “deeper” thoughts than a running list of events that I said I would keep away from in my “About Me” page. Such is life. Maybe I’ll update that…
p.s. he got cute again!
Moving Day!
Wow…the day has finally arrived. The realization still hasn’t “sunk in.” So, I’m laying in bed being lazy. I have my kitchen things packed and my office stuff already over there. Now I just have to do lots of laundry and pack all the rest of the stuff…
Well, I’m going to continue to be lazy for now 🙂
