(wrote this about a month ago or so and just now getting around to adding the pictures! so here’s the very late update!)
Wow! Asher is already 11 months old and is SO close to being a 1 year old! Hard to believe that a year ago I was wondering when he would come and if he would be early since my mom had all her babies early…but nope, he stayed put! A lot of friends and people we know have been having babies of their own so that’s been all sorts of fun too. Anyway, back to the 11 month update!
What we have learned…walking!! Well, taking steps and walking quite a ways at least! He’s learned how to turn around to go down the stairs and it’s pretty cute.
What we are enjoying right now…sleep! Naps and night time sleep seem to have finally turned a happy corner and we will take what we can get! We are also just enjoying watching him learn new things and just his happy personality. Favorite books include…That’s Not My Tiger, and 5 Little Ladybugs. Songs: “Come Thou Fount” and “Give Me Jesus” by All Sons and Daughters. And Ryan sings “Jesus We Love You” and “When You Walk into the Room” to him for bedtime.
What our biggest struggles are…time as a couple! We are adjusting to new work schedules and figuring it all out still.
Asher’s most exciting milestones…walking for sure! Still hanging out with the 7 teeth but all are through far. Talking and imitating more too!
What we are looking forward to…time in the cities, walks, hikes, time outside, and Asher’s birthday! And all the family that will be home over the 4th!
Asher’s likes and dislikes…he still loves to be rocked to sleep! He loves listening to All Sons and Daughters–particularly their Come Thou Fount and Give Me Jesus. He loves exploring things. Opening and closing things. Being outside. Eating all the food. Going down the stairs. Still loves when the dishwasher is open and the refrigerator too. The electric toothbrush. His dislikes…when he’s overtired, diaper changes, when we shut the door to the stairs, if he has to wait for food, and sometimes he dislikes getting into the carseat.
What sleep looks like…night feedings are all done! He usually goes to bed around 7:30-8:30 and sleeps until 6-8 in the morning. Sometimes he will wake up in the middle of the night and need to be rocked back to sleep but that has even gotten better lately.
What we are eating…lots!! This kid can eat! He’s pretty much eating what we are eating. He’s down to 3-4 nursings a day (generally when he wakes up around noon and then again around 4 and then sometimes one at like 9 or 10)
Who we have seen…we celebrated some birthdays and had Memorial Day and mostly nothing new here.
At the last doctor’s appointment…we don’t have one until his 1 year appointment so nothing new here. He is in 12 month and 18 month clothes. Still size 4 diapers.
