“Don’t hide, run to the light.”
“We’re all learning to show our scars.”
“Joy in the suffering….break these chains, tear down these old walls.”
“Though the mountain’s big. You’re so much more.”
“Be my trust…”
“It’s these choices that we call love.”
“I’ll be there. I’ll stand by you.”
I’m a lyrics girl through and through. I listen to songs for the lyrics that hit my heart and take me away. More often than not you’ll find my emotions scattered through the lyrics of the songs that I have on repeat. Not to mention that I’m a junkie for finding new music and dissecting it for just those types of lyrics. So, when sweet Jen approached me about listening to her husband’s new EP, I jumped on the chance! Plus, I had just gotten her *adorable* calendar, which I love! Oh and they share a mutual love for SA, which just makes my heart ever so happy. #africalove Regardless of all these lovely connections, I honestly say I soaked up the songs and the lyrics (the lyrics above speak for themselves). So much depth.
So, I say, check it out and before you do…here’s a little of what Jeremy had to say:
I have been writing songs for over 15 years and spent much of my early adult life playing music all over the world. The last few years I have set it aside while building Ten Thousand Homes. But now is the time. I chose songs that were not all written recently. One was written this year, while the others go back as far as 8 years ago. I really wanted to represent a journey, and while this is a simple recording, I am extremely proud of it! What I know now is that this is only the beginning!
