Color!

5 minutes! Writing out your heart with no editing…sometimes you’ll start going one way and end up another.  Either way, let’s take 5 and enjoy writing about….

Color

While I’m in the process of dreaming up a blog make-over, I must say that I do love how my current blog design so speaks to my heart and view on color.  The more color, the better.  I know often people view life as a tapestry where the backside is messy and looks tangled only to find the other side brilliantly redeemed, but I’m a bit partial to the canvas idea.  The painting and the mixing of colors to blossom into something extraordinary.  Probably because I couldn’t make a tapestry if I wanted…though, there in lies the reminder too that I’m not God thank goodness because He can make something beautiful!  Yet, beautiful comes in its time.  Ecclessiastes seems to be the book that my comments refer back to lately and that quote always struck me.  There is a time for things to be beautiful.  To burst forth with vibrant colors ready to enfold you in love.  While you wait, you still get to paint the every day moments and choose to make them beautiful.  I’m learning to be intentional about finding the beauty and in celebrating the moments.  Even if it means declaring a Birthday month.

oh and before you click away….tell me…what’s your favorite color?

*header quote on my blog:

Life is not a color within the lines project; Life is a work of art. You have to keep mixing the colors, creating new blends, and seeing things in fresh ways. You must be willing to get paint all over you. Remember, God will make your deserts like Eden because He delights in you.

  1. Totally understand about a blog make-over, I’m working on one of those myself. I don’t do tapestry, though sometimes I do embroider, and yes the back side is a tangle of colors. Experienced needleworkers tell me the back side should look as neat as the front side. Yeah, right. But, I love that the backside doesn’t always look pretty, but God is able to straighten the mess out and make us beautiful. My favorite color changes from time to time. Right now it appears to be purple, all purples but mostly the deep rich purple. ~Nita

  2. Such a beautiful sentence: “While you wait, you still get to paint the every day moments and choose to make them beautiful.”

My favorite color(s): green, blue and purple! 🙂

    • That line hit me hard and made me challenge myself to make sure that I keep choosing within each and every moment.

Love that you picked more than one color!

  3. I like your ideas on color. And my favorite color is green – I cheat a little bit by not narrowing it down to a particular shade because I like almost all that I’ve seen.

  4. I totally feel you on the blog makeover. I’m trying to figure out my next step in that department, too. 🙂

As far as my favorite color… strange thing, but i’ve never been able to choose! Even when I was a little girl, I’d change it every time someone asked. There is so much beauty in all the colors…. who can pick just one?!

    Great 5 minutes, as always!

    • Oh exciting about potential blog makeovers…can be hard to find a next step! Do you have any ideas yet on what you want it to look like?

Amen on the favorite colors! I have a hard time picking one and it often changes depending on what the favorite color is for…like favorite color to wear or favorite color for walls or houses, etc. so many options!

    • Steady. always has been =)

Mine changes…depends on what for…I love all sorts of bright, happy colors and I tend to gravitate toward pastels often too. I love me some green, pink, yellow, and well really when I look at my room and clothes I’ve got a variety!
