faithful in the ordinary

5 minutes to write…here goes…

ordinary

faithful.

simple. every day kind of faithfulness.

the kind that says i’m providing air to breathe, water to drink, food to eat, a roof over your head. let alone that you have arms and legs that move. but even if i take it all away and throw a “Job” at you where you’re covered in boils and your family’s gone and your wife er husband er lackthereof in my case so let’s go with friend tells you to curse god and die…..well god’s still there. which i don’t think i always like because sometimes heaven can’t come soon enough. but then god does mention about preparing good works for us to do in advance so then maybe there’s something in that. either way. this ordinary. get up. wake up. kind of faithfulness can be overlooked. how often do i really see and acknowledge His faithfulness in the little things like air or water or heat or food. humbling. when you really think oh wait everything literally every good and perfect gift comes down from God who made the heavens and the earth and knows us well enough to know the hairs on our heads and the thoughts in our heads and the heart’s desires that ache and the path that will be for our good.

time’s up.

your turn. 5 minutes on ordinary!

  1. “how often do i really see and acknowledge His faithfulness in the little things like air or water or heat or food. ”
Completely convicting my heart of ingratitude.

  2. Yes! All our “ordinary” is a gift from God. Love this: “everything literally every good and perfect gift comes down from God who made the heavens and the earth and knows us well enough to know the hairs on our heads and the thoughts in our heads and the heart’s desires that ache and the path that will be for our good.”
