grateful…for my heart and mind!

I’m so grateful for the ability to look things up for myself.  I love being able to look up the Greek and Hebrew words.  I’m a word person so this just makes my heart happy and is definitely a source of joy. So, remember when I asked about the heart and mind? Well…here’s what I’ve gathered so far…

Psalm 7:9 “For the righteous God tries the hearts (libbah) and minds (kilyah)

Jeremiah 17:10 “I the Lord search the heart (leb) , I test the mind (kilyah).”

Luke 24:25 “…slow in the heart (kardia) to believe in all that the prophets have spoken”

Romans 1:28 “And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind (nous), to do those things which are not proper.”

1 Corinthians 2:16 “…We have the mind (nous) of Christ.”

Romans 12:2 “…transformed by the renewing of your mind (nous)..”

2 Corinthians 3:14-16 “But their minds (noemata) were hardened; for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remains unlifted, because it is removed in Christ. But to this day, whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their heart (kardian); but whenever a person turns ot the Lord, the veil is taken away.”

Matthew 22:37 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart (kardia), soul and mind (diaonia)

Hebrews 8:10 “Put the laws in their mind (diaonian) and write them on their hearts (kardia).

1 Samuel 16:7 “…the Lord looks at the heart (lebab).”

Psalm 51:10 “Create in me a clean heart (leb).”

Proverb 12:20 “Deceit is in the heart (leb) of those who devise evil.”

James 1:26 “…deceives his own heart (kardian).”

Ezekiel 18:31 “new heart (leb) and new spirit (ruach)”

and lots more…but there are a few to mull over…to chew on…to ponder the different words and mostly ask God!

ohhh and all of this little search started by talking about 1 Peter 1:13, 22 “prepare your minds (diaonia) for action…love one another from the heart (kardias)…”

  1. Looks like you’ve opened a “can of worms”, but one which would be well worth spending some time sorting out.

I look forward to reading further posts on your discoveries!
