“Life is a work of art. You have to keep mixing the colors, creating new blends, and seeing things in fresh ways. You must be willing to get paint all over you.”

Take Away
You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord Blessed be Your name
—-
For the longest time whenever I heard this song, I immediately thought that the “take away” part included things that I wanted to keep. Like sacrificing in certain areas or having to give up certain things. Yet, as I listened to the song a few weeks ago….it finally dawned on me that, no, the Lord can take away other things as well! Things I WANT Him to take away including sickness, pain, feelings, desires, and so much more. By taking away these things, He gives me so much more and replaces them with things even better than I can imagine.
You Make Time For Me
You have my heart And I am Yours forever You are my strength God of grace and power And everything You hold in Your hand
Still You make time for me
I can’t understand
Praise You God of Earth and sky How beautiful is Your unfailing love
Unfailing love And You never change God You remain The Holy One
My unfailing love
Unfailing love You are my rock
The one I hold on to
You are my song
And I sing for You

I miss being able to eat whatever I want whenever. Instead, I only get to do this for lunches on the weekend and for breakfasts. I love breakfast and the weekends because we get to eat our own food instead of prepared food by the kitchen staff. On the plus side, I am glad that we are able to provide jobs and get to know the people who prepare and serve the food for us.
Girl Talk Equations
Monday nights=girl talk
Girl talk=talking about all things girly including the book What Happens When Women Say Yes to God by Lysa Terkeurst
The book=some interesting quotes
Some interesting quotes=p. 68
p. 68=”It would surely be wonderful if life was so prettily packaged wouldn’t it? Every time we had trouble in our life, we could then see the good that came out of it. Oh, for sure, there are plenty of times where we clearly see the hand of God in difficult circumstances. We look back and marvel at how God brought great things out of challenging situations. But there are plenty of times when God, in His own sovereignty, does not open our eyes to what He is doing. He wants us to trust Him, no matter what is happening.
That quote=underlining in the book
Underlining=I can resonate with this thought
Resonating=I still can look back and have YET to see the good that comes out of certain situations.
Yet=knowing that God is still God and that I am learning ever yet to trust Him no matter what is happening.
Snow!? In Africa? Pictures to Prove It
Let it Snow. Let it Snow.
aka I need to move. I need to move.
Somewhere warmer!
I am such a wimp when dealing with the cold.
Though, I will admit that I love seeing the first snow.
I think I just like to visit the snow for a little while and then leave.
Because I hate the slush, mud and the way your pants get wet at the bottom.
So, what about you? Do you like the cold? Oh and where should I move next as long as I’m asking.
Decisions
“You get to decide what you do today and what you do tomorrow, but you will be accountable for your choices….Quit blaming your indecisiveness on God.” p. 174 Wide Awake by Erwin McManus
Unique Churches
Fun. I totally would like to visit a church like this! What do you like most about your church and have you ever been to a unique church like this?
Baby Tigers and Lions!
Baby tigers at the Lion Park with huge paws!
Toga!
Toga! As a group, the Twenty4Seven interns, decided to end May with a Toga party complete with falafel, hummus, pitas, and better than sex cake. Everyone sported togas made out of sheets. We all helped cook and clean up (typically, one team cooks and the other cleans up–my team consists of Allen, Sam, Tara and myself and our team name is AKTS). I ate so much and felt completely satisfied! After we ate, we piled on the couches later to keep warm after, of course, a little pillow fighting.
p.s. when did my hair get so long!?
