As most of you know, I’m not usually the drama or theatre type…so the idea of performing in a skit in front lots of little kids does not sound like my cup of tea! But, I’m here. I’m in Africa. I’m not going to let a little “stage fright” keep me from trying something new. Thankfully, I shared the part with another intern, Sam. We played “Pulane” who talked about cooking pap and having patience. Throughout the skit, Tumo is searching for his purpose. He wonders if Jeremiah 29:11 is for him and about who the Lord is.
“For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
We performed the skit at 6 different schools with varying amounts of kids. Some of the crowds were huge! The skit was to promote LaunchPad, an afterschool discipleship class that we, the interns, get to teach! I’ll keep you updated on how the teaching goes in the next few weeks. The curriculum I’ll be teaching is called “Becoming a Contagious Christian.” Should be fun 🙂
This is me and some of the kids who were at the schools 🙂
