Stars

I love falling asleep and being able to see the stars! Last night, as I was still numb and puffy, I fell asleep on the couch and was able to see the stars. I’m at home so that means they’re much brighter than in the city! I love coming home late at night and being able to look up and see the entire sky filled with stars. Even better if the moon is huge! This usually puts me in a reverent and awe-filled state at how amazing and big my God is.

The scriptures are filled with stars…a few weeks ago I went through to find specific references.

Here are a couple references for easy access:
Matthew 2:10

10When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy.

Job 38:7

When the morning stars sang together
And all the sons of God shouted for joy?

Philippians 2:12-18

12Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.

14Do everything without complaining or arguing, 15so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe 16as you hold outthe word of life—in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing. 17But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you. 18So you too should be glad and rejoice with me.

And a few more to look up if you want….

Genesis 1:14-16, Genesis 15:15, Genesis 22:17, Numbers 24:17, Hebrews 11:12, Isaiah 14:12, Jeremiah 31:35, 2 Peter 1:19, Jude 13, Revelation 8:10 & 22:16, Nehemiah 9:6, Job 3:9, Psalm 8:3, Psalm 147:4, Psalm 148:3, Ecclesiastes 12:2, Song of Songs 6:10, Isaiah 47:13, 1 Corinthians 15:41, Luke 21:25

So, maybe not tonight since the weather has turned SUPER cold, but go look at the stars soon! I know I will as soon as I stop getting dizzy…until then I’ll stick with the view from the couch 🙂
