Confessional #2

March 9, 2008

I’m not really sure if this counts as a confession, but I’ll be honest…the story is quite funny and embarrassing.  So here’s a confession on the “light” side :)

I get done with work on Friday and have already planned ahead to go work out right after work so that I could maybe do something later that night.  My workout clothes are in a bag in the backseat and I’m totally psyched to go running.  I’m jamming out to tunes and trying not to be impatient about Friday afternoon traffic.  I decide to take the 10th street bridge way home and turns out…it’s busy.  To my credit the drive did end up taking me 5-10 minutes longer than usual.

So, there I am…sitting in traffic and I had just talked to my roomie so I’m a little bored now that I’m off the phone and waiting at stoplights.  I get this “brilliant” idea that I should utilize this time and cut out the annoying extra time of changing before I work out.  Due to various sports and life, I’m pretty good at changing in the car.  Plus, I always was amazed at those people who could change super fast in the car or while driving.  I’m a scaredy cat and won’t change while driving, but I figure…hey, I’m stopped at a stoplight, I can do this!  I carefully plan my changing strategy and get everything ready.  I make sure there’s no one next to me and that the person in front of me is a girl and behind me is a tall bus and they can’t see anyway.  I change my pants fine–I’m wearing a long coat and to see in you’d have to be in a big truck.  Next, I scramble to change my shirt.  I put the sports bra on and as I’m pulling my shirt on I notice a car has just pulled up and the guy is laughing and tapping his friend in the passenger seat to quick look and see this crazy girl changing out of work clothes.  Yep. I’m that crazy girl.  So then I start laughing and find the whole thing ridiculously funny that I got “caught.”  Here I thought I was being so “clever” and saving time, but no…instead I gave a few guys a good chuckle :) Thank goodness for being able to laugh at myself!

So guess what? Someone else told me a story yesterday about changing in her car! What is up with all these people changing in cars? :)
